The brief of this project was to create an original custom typeface that strongly reflects an idea or theme. My typeface called ‘Funkera’ was derived from the cultural and visual aesthetic of the 60s Funk Era. I was inspired by the fashion, the hairstyles, the groove and the move of the 60s. The wiggles, curvy forms, and psychedelic colours are the main components that bring out the ‘funk’ in my font.
